OCM BOCES Students Participate and Place in New York State SkillsUSA Leadership Contest – Baldwinsville Student Will go to National Competition!

Congratulations to the OCM BOCES students who participated in this year’s New York State SkillsUSA competition held in Syracuse on April 14, 2011. More than 2,000 Career and Technical Education students from across New York State competed in contests from culinary arts and cosmetology to construction and welding, including performance and written tests. 

One student from the OCM BOCES Henry Campus in Syracuse qualified to compete in the National-level SkillsUSA competition, which will be held in Kansas City, MO from June 20 through 25, 2011. That student is Yaroslav Burko, an OCM BOCES Automotive Collision Technology student from the Baldwinsville Central School District. Yaroslav (Slavic) will be attending the National SkillsUSA conference with OCM BOCES SkillsUSA Advisor, Marilyn Davis. Slavic is pictured being observed by a judge as he works on his project during the New York State SkillsUSA competition.
